JAKARTA, GREENPRESSNET — Greenpress Indonesia took part in the celebration of the International Day for Biological Diversity (Biodiversity Day) 2025, organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) of the Republic of Indonesia at Bale Panjang, Museum Indonesia, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), on May 22–23, 2025.
This annual moment serves not only as a celebration but also as a platform for sharing spirit and concrete actions to preserve Indonesia’s biodiversity. Greenpress Indonesia, an organization actively advocating for environmental issues through media and education, was honored to take part in a special session titled “Sharing Stories, Spirit, and Action,” held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 08:40 to 11:30 AM (WIB).
Igg Maha Adi, Executive Director of Greenpress Indonesia, was scheduled to be one of the speakers in the session, alongside environmental activists, academics, researchers, and government officials. Each participant shared their experiences and perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in managing biodiversity in Indonesia.
“Biodiversity is not just about flora and fauna—it’s also about nurturing the connection between people, culture, and nature. Greenpress believes that the small stories we share can spark major change,” said Igg Maha Adi ahead of the discussion session (May 22, 2025).
Greenpress Indonesia’s presence at this Biodiversity Day celebration reflects its ongoing commitment to mainstreaming environmental issues into wider public discourse—particularly through data-driven and inspiring storytelling media.
This event became a stage for collaboration among various stakeholders: the government, civil society, nature enthusiasts, and the younger generation. Amid the threats of climate change and habitat loss, Biodiversity Day 2025 is a reminder that protecting biodiversity is not the responsibility of a single entity, but a shared obligation.
